The East Tennessee Development District works to assist our communities within our 16 county region with local planning, grant opportunities, historical preservation, housing, transportation, and solid waste. The East Tennessee Development District also works to facilitate economic development throughout the region in both the public and private sectors.
Planning Advisory
Services
The East Tennessee Development District has established the Planning Advisory Services (PAS) to supplement the wide array of services offered to local cities and counties in the region. These planning services are offered to local governments on a contractual basis and deliver professional services under a locally established comprehensive planning program in cooperation with the local leadership and a multitude of agencies.
Housing & Historic
Preservation
Across East Tennessee, there are many buildings, structures, sites and districts of historic and cultural significance. Through a technical assistance contract with the Tennessee Historical Commission (THC), ETDD provides historic preservation services to local governments in our region, formulating solutions for individual historic resources and contributing to larger preservation planning and economic development initiatives.
